4. Setting up email sequences and advanced personalization
This step involves creating the email content and defining how AI personalizes messages for each contact.
Understanding variables in FirstQuadrant
FirstQuadrant AI populates all variables automatically. Variables act as prompts that AI processes to generate relevant content dynamically. You can customize these variables to create highly flexible and personalized emails while retaining control over the content.
How variables work
- Variables are enclosed in curly brackets
{}
- AI processes the instructions inside the brackets to generate contextual, customized content
- Variables can reference Properties (e.g., company size, industry) or Knowledge (e.g., pricing catalogs, case studies)
Examples of variables
Standard variables (Basic but AI-Powered)
{first name}
→ Inserts the recipient’s first name{company name}
→ Inserts the recipient’s company name
Instruction-based variables (Flexible AI Generation)
{insert the problem the company is solving}
→ AI generates a personalized sentence describing the company’s main challenge and solution{write a friendly opening based on past conversations}
→ AI adapts the introduction based on previous interactions
Advanced variables referencing properties & knowledge
{generate a product recommendation based on company industry}
→ AI selects a product from knowledge to match the company’s industry{highlight a case study relevant to this company's size}
→ AI pulls a relevant case study from the knowledge base
5. Launching and managing campaigns (Advanced settings explained)
Autopilot mode
- ON: FirstQuadrant automatically approves and sends all campaign emails without manual intervention
- OFF (Default): Emails are prepared first, and a user must review and approve them before they are sent
- Why Use It?: If you trust the AI-generated emails and want a fully automated campaign, turn Autopilot ON
Contextual adjustment
- When ON (default), AI reviews previous conversations with each contact and modifies email content accordingly
- Example: If John mentioned getting married last year, FirstQuadrant might add: “Hi John, I hope the wedding went well!”
- Why Use It?: Ensures personalized, natural communication based on historical interactions
Open tracking
- How It Works: Injects a tracking pixel into 10% of emails to estimate open rates
- Why Not 100%?: Tracking all emails reduces deliverability rates due to spam filters
- Why Use It?: Helps measure campaign effectiveness without affecting inbox placement
6. A/B testing campaign variants
- Create multiple versions of an email template
- AI can generate new variants or users can manually create them
- FirstQuadrant randomly assigns variants to audience members to measure performance
- Compare results and refine emails to improve engagement
7. Previewing emails before sending
- Click Preview (top-right corner)
- View how emails appear for different audience members and senders
- Modify templates if necessary before launching the campaign
8. Enabling the campaign and advanced settings
Once all settings are configured, turn the campaign ON (top-right corner). FirstQuadrant will begin sending emails based on the configured settings.
Advanced settings
Pipeline assignment
- Automatically Assigns Deals: When a contact responds with intent, FirstQuadrant creates a deal and assigns it to the most relevant pipeline
- Customization: Users can specify which pipeline new deals should be added to instead of letting AI decide
Product/service customization
- By default, the campaign sells your company as a whole
- You can override this to focus on a specific product or service
- Example: Instead of promoting your entire company, you can instruct AI to sell only your premium plan in emails
Sending schedule
- Default: Uses the global sending schedule set in your account settings
- Customize Per Campaign: Adjust sending times for this campaign only
